Inside the Googleplex

A great little photo essay over at Time shows images from Google’s Mountain View headquarters (via BinaryBonsai). Interestingly they allow employees to bring their dogs to work but not their cats. My theory is the cats would wander the complex assimilating knowledge and then build their own rival company.

true, dogs are far more entertaining, especially the way they run around the house unaware of the physics of different floor materials and their slip factor, there’s nothing as funny as watching your dog sprint through the hallway and then skid across the kitchen floor desperatley trying to stop before he hits the cupboard.
plus i’d say it’s the fact that dogs can’t jump as high as cats, that allows them in. means they can be kept at ground level. where cats can fuck off into the rafters if they have the means to reach them. and don’t come when called

there was a good article from inside dublins little googleplex in one of the sunday papers recently, they seem to try and keep the relax thing going with sofas etc in the openplan office

btw i sent a lot of return suggestions re mail system to support@dublin.ie , like the javascript links not having href url links being a slowdown pain… look forward to ur reply ๐Ÿ™‚

Mixing work and leisure on your site is great, Anto. I’d never be able to do that. Maybe you could post the support numbers for your work on the front page of your site. Like a big floating link on the top, with flashing Javascript and stuff.

Use an image of breasts as well, that usually gets people to slow down and think about what it’s all really about

Peter, I don’t mean to be rude but this is not a support channel for dublin.ie or even a means to get my attention on anything related to work. I may mention the job from time to time but this is my personal web site.

Anything related to dublin.ie goes through the appropriate channels and not via this site. I appreciate your comments so far but I won’t allow any further comments related to my work.
