Was due to go to Justin Timberlake in Vicar St on Saturday night. Well, I thought it was Saturday night anyway. The media outlets like RTE were reporting the gig as taking place in the early hours of Sunday but looking at the ticket it said ‘Sunday – Doors Open Midnight’. So myself and Helen turned up at the venue on Saturday night but it looked very dark. There were about 20 people hanging around waiting for something to happen. We got chatting to a guy whose cousin ran the venue so he gave him a call only to find out the gig was due to happen the next night.
I got a phone call from Ticketmaster the next morning saying the gig was cancelled because of ‘technical issues’. They offered free entry to the gig in the RDS that night and a full refund. Can’t say fairer than that but I was disappointed at not getting to see the club show in Vicar St (it only holds a thousand people). So, myself and Helen made our way out to the RDS last night and weren’t disappointed. Still, I can’t help but wonder what happened with Vicar St. I’ve included the end of Lovestoned in the full post:
