One Thousand

DSCF4262
I started posting to this blog back in 2003, just as I was about to finish college, and this is the one thousandth post 8 years later. It’s catalogued a lot of stuff that I’ve done and I can’t see me getting rid of it any time soon. I’ve met a lot of amazing people through blogs, Twitter and other social media and I’ve really come to appreciate how lucky I am in the life I lead. This post in particular is dedicated to my family, friends and Trev who probably still has the most comments here. He’d get a kick out of that. :)

Friday Photo – Oxegen 2011

A bunch of us went down to Oxegen last weekend so I’ve decided to do a bumper Friday photo with some of the shots I took. Enjoy your weekend.

Thanks to the ladies from WHPR and Julie in particular for sorting VIP access to the Captain Morgan tent. We certainly made the most of it. :)

Project Nim

I really enjoyed ‘Man on Wire‘ (directed by James Marsh), which documented Philippe Petit’s daring, but illegal, high-wire routine performed between New York City’s World Trade Center’s twin towers in 1974. Marsh’s new film, Project Nim, is released in Ireland on August 12th and tells the story of a chimpanzee taken from its mother at birth and raised like a human child by a family in a brownstone on the upper West Side in the 1970s. The trailer looks really good so I’ve got high hopes.

Where’s Wally?

The video above was taken during the successful Guinness World Record attempt for the most amount of people dressed as Wally at the Street Performance World Championships in Dublin last Saturday. I was among the 3,567 people that you can see in high res and tag via Facebook. The Sunday attempt got even greater numbers but they’re ‘fair weather Wallys’ as we got rained on in our attempt. :) Well done to all the folks at SPWC for another great weekend in Dublin. More on yay.ie.
