Automatic

Every once in a while a product comes along that makes you go ‘wow’ and that’s the case with Automatic. It’s a plugin device for your car that tracks your bad habits that waste fuel, gives details for any mechanical issues, shows you where you’ve parked and even calls the emergency services if you are in a crash. The device retails for $69.95 and is available in the States only at this point. Looking forward to seeing more products in this space.

The Verge get their hands on Google Glass

The Verge have published a positive hands-on of Google’s new product, Glass, which will be hitting the market come year end. I’m really intrigued to see the uses to which this is put. It’s certainly not a product for everyone, not in the short term anyway but I like their aim of reducing the barrier between you and the real world when using mobile tech.

Redesigning Google

The Verge have published a superb piece on Google’s drive towards an overall design vision that trickles down to apps and products within the company. It’s an example of why The Verge is thought of so highly in tech circles. (hat tip to @niallharbison)
