Offline Gmail with Gears

Now this looks interesting. Google are launching offline GMail today and may do a rollout similar to what was done with Themes (newer accounts get it first). It works via the Gears plugin and allows you to browse, send (queued), tag, search and a number of other operations. Should be particularly handy for those who tend to fly a lot. More info on GMail’s blog.

This is good. Something so simple – it makes total sense.

How about they just figure out how to get internet on the planes and trains? HOW ABOUT IT TONERS?

@Lottie: It’s as I thought though, a gradual roll out.

@PaddyInEngland: Screw that mate. Planes are sacred for me, wouldn’t ever want full interwebs or phone calls. Too many annoying business punters.
