Taken last Friday night at Jameson’s films on the square event in Temple Bar. We watched ‘The Life of Brian’ which was excellent with the crowd quoting line after line. The singalong at the end was quite special. “Always look on the bright side of life, dodo dodo dodo do do”

Yes, yes I know it’s Monday but I forgot to post the Friday photo and so I’m making it up for it now. Saturday night led me once again to Darren and Lottie’s for drinks and fun times. The above photo was taken when we trundled down to the beach when the sun came up.

Today is Trev’s one year anniversary. I’ve never seen someone so brave in the face of death and it’s clear to anyone who knew him how hard he fought for his life. A few of us will be headed out to Blanch tonight for the mass and it got me thinking as to how I’ve lived over the past year. 365 days on I hope I’m living better than I was. “Better” is hard to define but I’d like to think that I’ve realised that life is finite. That sounds like bullshit as I’ve had grannies and grandads pass away over the years but Trev was my mate and I’d like to think that I knew him well. Health is the great enabler, without it your choices are limited. (That’s him in the t-shirt btw)

Last night David O’Doherty won the top prize at the “non-Perrier anymore” Comedy Awards in Edinburgh. As most of my mates know I’m a big fan of the guy. He’s genuinely really nice and deserves any success that comes to him. His style of comedy has always been one I’ve been a fan of. It’s not brash, it’s not over the top, it’s just really well observed and funny. It’s gonna be tougher to get tickets for his shows but that’s a good thing.
