The BCI ordered independent broadcasters to pull the TV and radio ads yesterday due to concerns that they breach regulations on political content.

BCI rules say adverts cannot have a political motive.

The Trócaire ads are understood to have been pulled because the Lenten campaign includes a petition on the charity’s website urging the Government to implementation a UN resolution on gender inequality.
