Gmail Security Flaw

Turns out that Google has a major flaw in its Gmail service. Slashdot is reporting that two punters have managed to view other peoples email by simply omitting a “>” on the end of the From: field. This is a serious flaw and theres a full explaination of how they stumbled across it at their site. GMail is still in beta but a lot of people are relying on it for their primary mail account.

First Training Session of 05

Had the first training session with the team last night. Gerry and Jimmy couldn’t make it so it was just myself and the twelve who turned up. To be honest, I need to get the FAI training under my belt. We did a few laps of the all weather and then some stretching but Gerry knows fitness routines which are a hell of a lot more beneficial. After that we just played a pratice game with six a side. My cousin Irvine who plays on the team seemed to handle his defensive position quite well so it may be beneficial to try him out in defense at the weekend. We’re playing St Mochtas on Sunday in the cup so hopefully we’ll be able to get a result. I say hopefully. šŸ™‚

Year in Review, By Entries

Saw this on Neil’s blog. Basically you post the first sentence of the first post from each month so here goes:

January: No posts.
February: No posts.
March: No posts.
April: Well the system is fully set up to allow us to post our thoughts and photos from our trip to Spain.
May: No posts.
June: Some pics from the 2004 Womenā€™s Mini Marathon which my family ran for Saint Francis Hospice in Raheny.
July: Just installed WordPress 1.2 Plugged In which Alex King was most kind to offer.
August: NuclearMoose managed to sit down and quiz lead WordPress developer Matt Mullenweg about the forthcoming 1.3 release.
September: The title gives you an indication of how the first game of the season went against Priorswood. (The title was “More to be done”.)
October: Jimmy couldnt make the last game againstā€¦ā€¦..eh Iā€™m ashamed to say I donā€™t rememberā€¦..oh there it is, McKelvey Celtic.
November: Went to the Halo 2 Launch Party in the Metropolitan Bar this evening.
December: Well its two weeks since Iā€™ve posted and itā€™s also just under two weeks to Christmas.

Packages finally arrive

Well the two packages from Amazon.com and CDWOW! finally arrived over the past couple of days. I had ordered them on the 7th of December so I’m not sure why there was such a hold up. šŸ˜• Two items from the CDWOW! order had come but the third, Dodgeball (Region 1), didn’t arrive until yesterday. The Amazon.com order was the one which was annoying me most as I had paid for expedited delivery which said that it would arrive before the 24th of December. I think the problem lies with An Post but I can’t be sure. šŸ™ Well, at least I have the books (shown below) and I watched Dodgeball last night with Mark and had a few beers.

Edinburgh’s Sorted

Finally sorted out the accomodation for Edinburgh which had to be done over the phone. I tried on Tuesday night to make the call but it was outside their call centre’s hours. I was quite suprised by that but they do have a web site. I couldn’t use that though because I couldn’t input the discount code for the wedding party. Anyway, I got through today and made the reservation in the Apex City Hotel for the two nights we’ll be staying. Quite impressed by the VisitScotland.com web site cos it lists tons of things that are close to the hotel (with icons listed on a map) and you can then get details about the various attractions. It certainly beats the one for Dublin! šŸ™‚
