Tonight I’m preparing 3 laptops that my uncle is taking to Africa on part of his trip with the Niall Mellon Township Challenge. Basically builders and associated craftsmen get sponsorship together and travel to townships in South Africa to build houses for the people there. My uncle normally brings anything he can source so this time he decided it would be laptops. He has secured 5 in all, 3 of which I have tonight and the other 2 I’ll work on tomorrow. The laptops will go to a school and also a football club so they can manage teams etc.
Weekender
Well it’s Monday night and I’m about to watch a DVD after a hard day of watching 5 Veronica Mars episodes in a row. 
The story of my weekend goes as follows:
- Friday: Went to football with the lads and stopped into the Globe cafe on George’s Street to see a mate of a mate play a DJ set. Stayed for two drinks and then headed off home.
- Saturday: I got bits and pieces done around the house before going out to the local pub with Dave for a few drinks. Unfortunately, “a few” turned into “too many” and we ended up going to a local niteclub. Pretty funny night out though but I don’t like hangovers.
- Sunday: Last night was my friend Helen’s Halloween House Party so I got dressed up as an Egyptian Carpet Salesman (:smile:) and toddled along. Had a really good night and only got in at about 4.30, hence my lazy day today.
Right so, off to watch that movie.
Presidential Speechalist
I never saw this at the time but Comedy Central did a skit for 2004′s Last Laugh program starring Andy Dick as President Bush’s Speechalist. Normally I can’t stand that bloke but this is genuinely funny.
AT-AT Halloween Costume
This has to be one of the coolest costumes ever. That guy actually built it himself and includes instructions in the photoset on how to do it.
Commuting
What is it about Dublin traffic that it always seems to be busier on a day when it rains? I got off the bus this morning at 9:18. I had been due to get on the bus at 8:10 but it only arrived at 8:20. In normal conditions it would have been a half hour to fourty minute trip so why the major delay? Well, I have a theory that a lot of people who normally take the bus just hop into their cars on rainy days. Personally I find it bloody ridiculous. This is Ireland for God’s sake!! It rains most days so just get over it and get on the bus instead of causing major traffic congestion. 
Seriously!! Oh and drivers who refuse to stay in lane properly and block the bus lane “by accident” should have their licenses taken off them and be forced to ride tricycles to work.
