I’d seen this done elsewhere in a couple of forums but it wasn’t until Neil and Dave got in on the act that I decided to try it for myself. The deal with it is that you upload a photo of your face to myHeritage and they’ll match it against their celebrity database and tell you who you look like. I uploaded the facial part of this photo and got back the following:

Kanye West Quite slow on catching up with this as the gig was last Friday. It was a fantastic gig. He has a lot of energy on stage and needs to for a guy holding his own on a stage that big. All of the big tunes from Late Registration went down really well and the crowd seemed to be really similiar with some of the more obscure tracks from the album.

Of course, Golddigger got the biggest reception but that was a given from the outset. I had heard complaints about his last appearance in the Point, in that he only played for 45 minutes. Well he set that right on Friday by playing almost two hours. During his set he took time out to acknowledge some of his musical influences and played samples from Marvin Gaye, Michael Jackson, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and even sang Aha’s – Take on me at one stage. I’d definitely go see him again.

BTW, I didn’t take that photo above. Most of the photos I took didn’t come out well as we were a fair distance from the stage.

A great little photo essay over at Time shows images from Google’s Mountain View headquarters (via BinaryBonsai). Interestingly they allow employees to bring their dogs to work but not their cats. My theory is the cats would wander the complex assimilating knowledge and then build their own rival company.

Feb 19

Finally have both hard drives running back as normal. It took the best part of a week but I’m happy now and have a schedule for backing things up just in case. Random things:

Went to my colleague’s funeral on Thursday. It was a lovely occasion as his band played at the crematorium and everyone was clapping along. Still very hard to believe.
One thing I forgot to back up was the database file from Movie Collector Pro so I’ll need to re-enter 100 odd DVDs. At least it wasn’t anything crucial.
Going to Kanye West on Friday and really looking forward to it.
Sorting out the details of our holiday to Orlando at the moment. Looks like we’ll be staying pretty close to all the major theme parks.
Have caught up on the episodes of Lost I had downloaded. Will now have to wait for two weeks before the next one. Boo-urns.
Stuck the Royale theme on as my Windows XP theme of choice. It’s quite nice and looks like Media Centre so I’d recommend it.
I’ve stuck up a couple of shots from Mark’s birthday drinks last week including the one shown of some random punter loitering in the background. He seems fairly happy though.
