Life

General postings about whats going on in my life.

It all started with a hat…

… and three days later the Facebook fan page I’d set up for Paul Cunningham’s winter hat had 3,500 members. On Thursday evening, RTE News’ Environment Correspondent Paul Cunningham wore this hat:

Twitter lit up with responses to it so I grabbed a Twitpic (thanks to Jack Murray) and published the page. The next morning it was mentioned on national radio shows and it grew very quickly. On Friday evening I decided to head along with anyone who wished to for the hats next outing. Unfortunately, RTE switched location from the previous night from Government Buildings to the IFSC. I’d like to think it was down to the fact that the meeting was announced via the Facebook page at lunchtime. ;) Alas, only 5 others turned up (it’s a lot easier to click ‘Like’) but we had an ‘Up with that sort of thing’ shot taken outside the Dail and then went for a few pints. Paul hasn’t worn the hat since so the page may well die now. Still, it was great craic while it lasted.

Baileys Red Bow Party

DSC00985
Last Thursday was Bailey’s “Red Bow Party” held to launch their special Christmas packaging. Myself and a few bloggers were invited along by WHPR for the evening. Now to be honest, I’d never really tasted Baileys before. I brought some back from Italy when I was over there but had yet to get around to opening it. They had a number of different tasters on the evening like straight Baileys with ice, crushed ice with strawberries etc. It’s lovely stuff and I really enjoyed the event. Darren and Christian even appeared with Glenda Gilson in ShowbizIreland. :)
