This video was shot at the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium in Japan. The main tank called the ‘Kuroshio Sea’ holds 1,981,290 gallons of water and features the world’s second largest acrylic glass panel, measuring 8.2 meters by 22.5 meters with a thickness of 60 centimeters. Whale sharks and manta rays are kept amongst many other fish species in the main tank. The divers in the tank seem insignificant in such an expanse. (Big hat tip to OmniAlx)
Video Games Live, a concert series featuring music from over 50 major titles, is coming to Dublin in November. It’s on in the National Concert Hall on Sunday 29th November and tickets are €26 or €33. They’ve played to over 300,000 people since 2005 and will hopefully get a big crowd in the NCH.
I’ve moved out of home and into Sandymount. I’ve been there almost two weeks and am really enjoying it. It’s a change of pace but having the option to walk to work in about 45 minutes is nice.
On Friday, a motley crew of us headed down to Oxegen 2009. We knew we wouldn’t be camping but with the weather forecast, it was probably for the better. We caught: Republic of Loose (awesome), a few minutes of Lily Allen, Fight Like Apes (crazy mental good), The Hours (well, I did and they were superb), a bit of Duke Special, Fun Lovin Criminals (serious smooth) and the amazing Blur. Paul is the new movie from comedy supremos Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. It’s directed by Greg Mottola, the bloke who shot Superbad, and is currently filming in the Nevada desert. You find out all about via the blog here or watch the video below. Looking forward to this one.
