It’s the final countdown

It’s that time of year again. A weekend in which Irish bloggers descend on a hotel to empty the bar, chat till the wee hours and generally have an awesome time. Saturday morning will see myself, Niamh, Darragh, Darren and Lottie get an early Ryanair flight to Cork. It’s the first year in which the awards have been outside Dublin and I’m really looking forward to it. Cork International Airport Hotel is the venue and looks brilliant. Mulley has a couple of suprises on the night too.

I finished up my judging on Monday night (about an hour to the deadline) and the final lists have since been published. Congrats to Lottie, RapturePonies and Darragh who are in for one category or another.

Frequently Asked Questions About Time Travel

faqabouttimetravel I saw this tonight after booking it sorta randomly a few weeks ago. It’s the fourth film I’ve seen as part of the Jameson International Film Festival. The main reason I booked tickets was the fact that it starred Chris O’Dowd (from the IT Crowd) and Anna Faris (always a good thing).

O’Dowd, Marc Wootton and Dean Lennox Kelly star as three ordinary punters who may hold the fate of the entire world in their hands when they discover a rift in the space-time continuum in the jaxx of their local pub. I know, I know, it’s a weird premise but it actually works for the most part. Snappy dialogue and good performances mean I’d recommend it and it should be in cinemas at some stage in March.

Friday Photo – The Pirates of Penzance

Went out to Maynooth Post Primary school last Sunday night to catch their production of ‘The Pirates of Penzance’. My cousin attends the school and was in it along with 150 other students. I have to say it was the best school show I’d ever seen. The set was brilliant, the leads were great and they belted out the tunes. Well done to all involved.
